An entryway is an area located at the front entrance of a home. When decorating their house, some people forget about the entryway to their home. The entryway is the first area everyone sees upon walking into your home. Therefore, the entryway should be a representation of how you want people to view your home, and should never be forgotten.
Below are some simple yet affordable ideas for a low cost entryway.
RUNNER OR RUG
A runner to mark the area and catch the dirt from outdoors should be included in most designs. Runners can be from as low as $10.00. Their average price is around $25.00. You are sure to find an affordable runner to fit the area.
MIRROR
A mirror is a great addition to any entryway. The mirror can be used as a last minute check on the way out the door. Their are several cheap mirrors available but I think quality should come first on some things.
TABLE
A console table or an entryway table should be inexpensive. Remember to search for quality and well as affordable. I recommend searching second hand stores and even facebook marketplace. If you feel you can do a DIY console table that would be great too. Ikea seemed to have furniture that is easy to DIY.
LAMP
You can use an old lamp that you have in another room, or you can go on a shopping trip at a flea market or yard sale. Most of the time you can take an older lamp and buy a lampshade to get a beautiful more richer look. It maybe more economical to do so also.
PLANTS
A plant is a nice touch. Although if you have a green thumb or plants elsewhere in the house, it would be a nice touch and more economical. As for the vase, your best bet is to get one from the dollar store. However, if you want something more elaborate then you should search the flea markets.
STORAGE BASKETS
Storage baskets near the entrance of your door can be a great decorative piece to catch the mail. It can also be used to house things you need by the door, Storage baskets can come in many shapes and sizes at an inexpensive price. You should have one by your door.
COATS
Every house I ever lived in came with a coat closet, but if your home doesn't have a closet you may want to invest into a coat hook for around $5.00-$20.00.
With these few things, you can create a dream entryway for your home for under $300.
